Online Keno
Keno Introduction
Keno is a game you will have knowledge of or you do not. It is typically deemed
as a lotto in the casino. Like the lotto, the game is made up of numbers being
drawn. The object is to select the numbers that come up. The game of Keno can
either be quick or slow based on the casino. By playing Keno on the web you can
set the pace of the game. Personally, I like live keno. You relax in a lounge,
if you want, and play. Keno is a game that you don’t need to be in the lounge to
participate and be a winner. For instance, you could put in a ticket for twenty
games and then go compete in something else in the casino or even your hotel
room if you’re staying at the casino.
The History Of Keno
Keno is one of the oldest games in the casinos, and as you would expect in a
game that has existed for more than three thousand years, there are not a few
discrepancies in what we know about the history of keno. However, by all
accounts, Keno was invented some 3000 years ago by Cheung Leung, a ruler of the
great Han Dynasty. At the time, Leung's city was involved in a long, drawn out
war, one that had all but exhausted the city's funds and resources. Unable to
draw more tax money from the residents, Cheung Leung conceived of an idea that
would both fill his city's coffers and would not place extra taxation on his
citizens.
The game he invented was somewhat similar to the modern keno we play today. The
game was based on a popular poem at the time, "The Thousand Character Classic."
This poem was, and is today, a popular way for people to lean how to count,
using one thousand Chinese symbols, none of them repeating itself. Comprising
two hundred and fifty phrases with four characters each, the poem was written by
Zhou Xingsi. Out of them 120 were used, subdivided into eight characters to each
subdivision. In order to regulate the winning or losing, it was decided that
whoever would guess right a whole subdivision would be rewarded ten taels, a
Chinese form of currency. Incidentally, this same game is still played today in
china, only the number of characters used from the "thousand character classic"
has been reduced to eighty
Keno Tips
Keno is a game of chance more than anything else. Combined with the house edge
that most casinos offer, it does seem like a losing game to some. But nothing
compares to the sheer thrill of waiting for your numbers to show up, every time
the 20 numbers show up. Keno is an equal opportunities game where each turn is
the same as the one before. The completely random nature of Keno leaves
absolutely no scope for cheating. But that doesn’t mean you can’t take the most
out of some handy tips offered here and keep your senses, during a heated Keno
race. During any Keno session the chances of a number showing up are equal. It
doesn’t matter if the numbers you’ve chosen do show up once while you’re playing
keno. The chances of the same number showing up again the next time are equal.
So just like Roulette, if your number does show up once, don’t bet on it showing
up again.
